Great article. So true.
So the people who abandon the PS3 after this are going to be shooting themselves in the foot. This is a must play game!
This guy has very little knowledge on identity theft. You can't steal someone's identity by knowing his name and where he lives. Ppppppfffffft!
Your social security number was never compromised. You never gave those details to Sony. This hack is not that friggin' severe.
Nothing to sue over.
EDIT:
What's even funnier is the guy who is asking for the details. Basically the same information that was compromised...
First and foremost, what is it with Americans and suing? An easy buck?
Secondly, what a load of crap. Sony waited to have confirmation of whether or not this information was compromised. They did the right thing by not speaking until they had their facts straight.
Also, what has this Kristopher Johns lost more than some precious online gaming time? Banks have already stated that the information that has been stolen is not enough to commit credit fraud.
I don't care how crap the game might end up being--I don't think it's possible for me not to love it.
This game is my childhood.
Agreed. Great game.
Show mee yoour teeeeeetaaaaays.
Problem is that the security was completely breached and everything was left wide open to hackers and exploiters. It didn't simply "crash"--they've been taken offline.
Though this is not one of my most anticipated games of the year, I really look forward to trying it. Other than that, this news isn't really upsetting. We've got BRINK, Postal 2, Mortal Kombat now... plenty to play.
Anything lower than a 9 does not do this game justice.
The way I see it is the outage only delays their paychecks. If anyone was ever considering to buy a game before the outage, they will most likely just do so once the PSN has been restored.
I am more worried about the consumers that had their credit info stored on the PSN.
Moooortaaal Kooombaaat!
I would say this would be one of my most anticipated games of the year, but unfortunately it's not confirmed. :(
Using your logic I could use "the glove didn't fit" as a counter argument.
You can use common sense to come to this conclusion. Who has waged war on Sony? Who hacks? Why have ANON stopped attacks? Why are they waiting until PSN goes live again? They are the only people calling Sony incompetent.
You need a lot of man power to bring down PSN. Anonymous has that. Who else could be behind this? Name a few more suspects, if you can.
I haven't really needed to buy another game since Angry Birds... that game is addictive.
Not everyone is religious--and, obviously, not everyone takes things as seriously as you.
I am going to play Mortal Kombat all throughout Easter. :)
@Wanyal,
I didn't know that iPhone games had billion dollar budgets? I think a lot more is invested in software for the PlayStation and Xbox 360 than there is in the iPhone. You can not compare the two. It's like saying stealing a loaf of bread is the same as stealing someone's car.
Not at all bothered by this. Plenty of awesome games already out, and coming out in the next few months. Besides, if I can wait this long for the next Duke, I don't see what difference waiting one extra month makes.
You are being bit of a troll, Counter Strike. Homefront is pretty awesome for a launch title from a rather small developer. The multiplayer is definitely a CoD killer. And for a team that just worked many long years on this game to already sound so enthusiastic for making a sequel, I sure as hell can't wait to pick it.
Let's say for a second, Counter Strike, that you did not enjoy the game. Fair enough. Why the hell are you clicking on Homefront related articles? I do...
This article is completely and utterly bullshit. It is tainted with hatred towards Sony. Sony Online Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment ARE NOT THE SAME ENTITY. Why would a disgruntled former Sony employer attack both? Anyone that worked for the company would know this--only anonymous morons wouldn't.
Further more, PSX-SCENE should be shut down and put and thoroughly investigated. Some sketchy content comes from that pit of a site.
